Biomimicry Bushcamp
Regenerative. Resilient. Revitalising.
Situated in the Garden Route Biosphere Reserve, this bushcamp is designed with biomimicry principles to offer an immersive experience.
Located just outside Plettenberg Bay, the Biomimicry Bushcamp is nestled on a forested wetland island in the Bitou Valley. The space holds stillness, the song of sunbirds, splashing of waterfowl, blink of fireflies, and the adorable antics of turacos through the milkwood canopies. It offers surrounds for quietening the mind.
As part of the Cape Floristic Kingdom - the smallest yet most diverse of the world's six floral kingdoms - this region offers vast panoramic vistas, macroscopic intrigue, alluring Afromontane forests and rich coastal encounters arising from the meeting of two oceans – the Atlantic and the Indian. The landscape holds secrets of human origins and ancient cultures – lives long gone but with stories still living on in sediments and signs of things seen and unseen. The power of these places awakens innate curiosity: what more is still out there to discover? How does this help us re-member our kinship with earth?
The bushcamp is an ideal setting for exploring these questions and connections. It is designed to be an integral part of this landscape in ways that both enhance your experience and the nature around you.
